Keeping your Swimming pool water crystal clear

Published: June 30, 2010

Causes

Cloudy or milky swimming pool water is caused by fine particles of dust and Algae spores that are too fine to be caught by the Swimming pool filtration system, These pasticles are circulated throught the swimming pool and over time give the swimming pool water a milky or cloudy look.

Remedy

The only way to get rid of these particle is to bind them to one another, This is achieved by using a Flocculent. There are various types of flocculents and the most common type is a ‘Gel’ block (crystal clear) which gets placed into either the swimming pool weir basket or the swimming pool pump basket, This gel block then dissolves and forms a layer on top of the sand which catches the particles by binding them together. Another type of flocculent is called crystal waters and this is a liquid which is poured into the swimming pool water, This liquid circulates through the swimming pool system and binds the particles to one another they will then settle onto the floor of the swimming pool for your automatic swimming pool cleaner to pick up and send to the sand filter which will remove these from the swimming pool water giving you a crystal clear appearance.
