How To Use Your Solar Blanket
It is very easy to use a solar blanket in your pool. Before getting a solar blanket you first need to measure your pools width and length. Also be sure to measure the steps as well. After knowing the exact size of your swimming pool, you can now be able to purchase you solar blanket. The solar blanket usually comes folded in a box. The blanket is laid out on the pool with the bubble side facing down on the pool. After doing that just let it lie there for a few days to allow it to relax to its exact size. After it has reached its true size you can then trim it. You should trim it so that it fits closely to the edge of the pool. However, do not let the blanket cover the top of the pool but only the inside of it. This is especially important if you want to put the solar blanket on a roller.
The other reason why the blanket should not overlap the pool is because it is easier to remove it if it covers only the pool. The solar blanket should be placed on the pool at all times, during the night and day. This is because at night the temperature is low which will cause the pool to lose all the heat making the water cold. So placing the blanket will prevent the heat from evaporating maintaining the heat in the water. During the day, the solar blanket will absorb the heat from the sun and warm the pool water. Buy a solar blanket reel in order to remove the blanket easily. The blanket reel has wheels which makes it easier to remove the solar blanket when you don’t need it. The solar blanket also comes with a bag you can use to store it when not using it.
Make sure that you clean the solar blanket as often as possible as to that it lasts longer. You can easily clean on the pool using a pool brush. Just squirt on the solar cover cleaner and then scrub with a pool brush. Then rinse with a garden hose after scrubbing. You can also clean it on your lawn as well if you want. Remember to not place the solar blanket on your pool if you have just added chlorine to the pool water. Wait for a few hours after adding chlorine. This way the solar blanket will last longer and not be damaged by high concentrations of chlorine. Remember not to store the solar blanket outside in winter and clean it periodically.
